Revered wine experts Oz Clarke, Jancis Robinson, Robert Joseph, Charles Metcalfe, Andrew Jefford, Susy Atkins, Stephen Skelton have personally selected the following English wines to be sampled at the Vinopolis English Wine Week Preview which runs two-weeks prior to English Wine Week. From 12-2pm, Vinopolis is inviting everyone who goes on a wine tour to taste these delectable wines for free!*

Whilst the Ridgeview and Hush Heath sparkling wines can be bought from large distributors the other wines can mostly be bought direct from the vineyards. The Vinopolis Preview gives the public the chance to taste these lesser known wines and discover just how good English wines are! Interestingly, the critics’ selection includes 2 sparkling rosé wines, both of which have won awards home and away, showing that England does indeed provide the perfect climate to produce good sparkling wines with perfect acidity. The choices of white wines show that the cross varietal grapes Bacchus and Siegerrebe grow well in English soil, with all of the vineyards based in the south of England.

During the Vinopolis tour guests will enjoy an English Wine section where they can learn about the growers, how to appreciate English wine, each wine’s provenance plus the vineyard’s location so they can pay a visit during English Wine Week (24th May – 1st June).

As a celebration of English wines, all English Wine tasting guests will be entered into a draw to win VIP tickets to Matt Skinner’s ‘Meet the Expert’ session on 17th May at Vinopolis. For the second week, guests will be entered into a draw to win tickets to Oz Clarke’s ‘Meet the Expert’ session in October. The winner will taste premium wines with Matt and Oz, have a Q&A session and receive other sought after goodies.

• The English Wine Week Preview at Vinopolis runs from 8th-19th May inclusive, this is before English Wine Week 24th May – 1st June. The Preview is not run by English Wine Producers but by Vinopolis.
