| In May there will be a new addition at Vinopolis HQ. Event Operations and Event Sales Manager, have now merged to create a new position: Events Director. Gemma Brown will head up a team of 8 and be responsible for increasing revenue with a target of £6 million in 2008 as well as head up operations. Brown will be leaving Instinct Events with over 6 years of experience working in the hospitality industry. Priding herself on increasing profits, immaculate attention to detail and the ability to enthuse those around her, Gemma is set to make this new role at Vinopolis her own.
At Instinct Events, Gemma successfully moved from event manager to senior sales and events manager within two years. During this time, the successes in her role increased business by 16% and these skills will now be put to full use at her new position at Vinopolis. With the addition of Gemma in mind, Rupert Ellwood, Managing Director at Vinopolis has set out a clear mission statement to reflect the direction of events at Vinopolis in 2008 ‘Gemma’s attention to detail fits perfectly with our seamless approach to event organising at Vinopolis. Objectives often get lost in event organising when people become too concerned with numbers and logistics. I want to fulfil clients’ objectives and deliver the whole picture in Technicolor, not just tick the boxes.’
Brown has an established relationship within the hospitality industry which began when she achieved a 2:1 BA with Honours in Stage & Event Management. Her first role was working for Greenwich Village Records UK but it was her role at Time Bar and Restaurant that really saw her excel. During her time at Time Bar and Restaurant, the establishment was awarded the London Perrier – Best Restaurant and Bars Award and she secured many editorial pieces in both national and local papers.
