Wine Blending FAM Trip - Tuesday 2nd September
Vinopolis will be hosting a FAM trip for event agencies for the ultimate team building challenge. Taking place on Tuesday 2nd September, teams of event agencies will be put through their paces in the Wine Apprentice, devised by Robert Joseph who was once described by Decanter Magazine as one of the 50 people who would influence the way we drink wine in the 21st Century.
Arriving at 6pm, guests will be welcomed with a glass of bubbly and given an introductory lesson in wine tasting and a briefing on the wine market. The challenge will be to create your own wine brand. Using the imagination and expertise of your team, you will tackle the task of blending a marketable wine from a set of samples of varying quality and price to create a name, design a label, choose a bottle, and prepare a sales and marketing campaign. All in just 90 minutes!
The wines will be sampled by judges Robert Joseph, Jeremy King editor of Event and George Coleman director of Weber Shandwick before presenting a promotional campaign. Efforts will be judged to determine who has produced the best combination of blend, label, price and campaign.
The winners will not only win tickets to a gournet food and wine session with Jimmy Doherty, star of BBC2's series Jimmy Doherty's Farming Heroes, but the challenge will be covered by Event Magazine so come down to prove you're the best in the industry!

PR Night - A Midsummer's Night May 2008
Vinopolis opened the summer season with a special preview of our event spaces, which showcased our talent for organising top quality events. This particular event was themed 'A Midsummer Nights Dream' and saw the transformation of the Great Halls into a grand dining area with 'outdoor' bar and dancefloor. For more information about events packages, click here or call 020 7940 8322 to speak to a member of our dedicated event management team.
8mg wireless internet now at Vinopolis Vinopolis now offers all of its guest’s super fast wireless broadband internet access via BT Openzone. You can now log on in locations throughout the venue, including the main event spaces and themed tour areas using our secure connection.
Once online, visitors are able to surf the web and check their emails at speeds of up to 8mg as they would on a normal LAN connection, so being out of the office doesn’t mean being out of touch at Vinopolis. The wireless connection operates from two IPstream Max Premium circuits, which basically means that if one fails there is always a backup to keep you connected and secure.
Convenient 1-hour or 24-hour access vouchers are available to purchase from reception and allow users to get online immediately or existing BT Openzone account holders can log-in easily with their account details. Further details of the new system can be found at http://www.btopenzone.com/
